Avian Research Symposium 2022, March 8 -10

After the success of a small pilot online meeting in February 2021 we are delighted to announce the Avian Research Symposium 2022. The meeting is organised by early career researchers at the Roslin Institute, Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies and The Roslin Institute’s National Avian Research Facility at the Easter Bush Campus, UK.

The Avian Research Symposium 2022 will be an online event, held on three consecutive afternoons, March 8th-10th 2022.

The symposium aims to raise awareness of exciting research investigating avian biology and using avian model systems. We intend to highlight novel technologies and approaches in avian research, promote interdisciplinary collaboration and encourage researchers unfamiliar with the opportunities provided by using the chick embryo model to join the meeting to learn more.

We warmly invite students, researchers, and support staff who work with avian species to present on a broad range of topics.

The programme will be a mix of short and long style presentations. We expect topics to include avian welfare and husbandry, behaviour, developmental biology, genomics, through to infection and immunity.

Call now open for speakers!

Students, researchers, and support staff that work with avian species are warmly invited to give either a poster-style flash talk (3 min) or a long format talk (15 -30 min) about their work.

While there is a focus on poultry species at The Roslin Institute and the National Avian Research Facility, the event is open to researchers who work with any avian species.

Please note that the closing date for speakers to register is Friday 21st January 2022
